Plans for the Western Front were discussed at a summit at the Henric van Veldeke College in Maastricht on 7 December 1944. There, US General and Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower, US General Omar N. Bradley, British Field Marshal Bernard L. Montgomery, British Air Force Commander Arthur Tedder and US 9th Army Commander Lieutenant General William H. Simpson meet each other.
