Sainte-Mère-Eglise (4)
During the Normandy invasion, 30 paratroopers landed in the town of Sainte-Mère-Eglise , including 20 on the church square. On 7th June at noon, reinforcement troops, who had landed on Utah Beach were there to clear Sainte-Mere-Eglise.

Battipaglia – Via Roma (2)
Two days after taking Battipaglia, Italy, the commander of Operation Avalanche, General Clark visited the town with airforce commander of the Middle Sea General Sir Arthur Tedder. The yellow building behind the leaves was there in 1943 and is still there.

Erp – Brugstraat
A Pz.I tank tries to cross via the provisionally made bridge over the Aa at Erp, while another Pz.I runs through the shallow river. On 11 and 12 May 1940, the 9th Panzer Division maneuvered through this area.
